Home Exhibit Video Now Up

Blog · 3 August 2020

See the video recording of the opening reception for Home, A Virtual Exhibition now. Click the start arrow to enjoy this in depth look at the show, which includes artist interviews and videos showcasing specific themes and works from the show (including my Broken Home mixed media piece).

We had an outstanding opening reception – virtually – on July 11 for the Home, A Virtual Exhibition show at Woman Made Gallery.

This juried exhibition includes one of my latest mixed media artworks, Broken Home.

Video From Opening Reception Now Up

Woman Made held the opening online and recorded this event.

Now, the gallery has posted the opening reception video recording so you can watch it at your convenience.

I’ve included the video at the top of this post. Just click the “start” arrow to start the recording.

NOTE: The video also is posted on the Woman Made Gallery page for the Home exhibition. You’ll also find it on Woman Made’s YouTube page.

Reception Recording Spotlights My Artwork, My ‘Broken Home’ Video

Exhibition juror and curator Jennifer Weigel selected a few artists whose work is included in the show to create a video about their pieces.

I am one of the artists she chose to spotlight in this way.

Jennifer included my art under the theme of hardship and trauma, and she asked me to talk in my individual video about the meaning behind the broken china in my Broken Home mixed media artwork.

The section about hardship and trauma begins at 43:36 on the video. The portion featuring my video starts at 44:44.

If you click the start arrow in the video below this paragraph, the video will begin right at the start of the section that includes my work.

Click the start arrow in this video player to start the Home, A Virtual Exhibition opening reception video right at the start of the section that includes my Broken Home artwork.

Find Out More About My Broken Home Piece

For more about my Broken Home mixed media art piece – and the Home exhibition – see my earlier blog post, Art Gallery – Virtual Exhibit Opens July 3.

In that post, I wrote at length about why I created this artwork and what inspired it.

See The Show Now – Virtually

Although the show has just closed, it will remain available for viewing online.

You can see both the image of my Broken Home mixed media piece and my artist statement about this piece on Woman Made Gallery’s website.

See the entire show at Woman Made’s website page dedicated to the Home, A Virtual Exhibition show. On that page, you’ll see two tabs – “Description” and “See The Work.” Click the “See The Work” tab to see the entire show.

Enjoy The Video – And The Show

Enjoy the video.

And enjoy viewing my video within the opening reception video as well as my Broken Home artwork.
